Congratulations on your engagement - no matter if it's a long or short one, you probably would be grateful for some help & direction - right? We've attempted to assemble some helpful tips, some links to tools, some forgotten items and other suggestions that we hope you'll find useful. And remember, you can contact us anytime if you've got a question - we'll be here to help.

The first thing a wedding needs is a budget and helpful tools on how to allot those dollars. The folks at

www.costofwedding.com will provide you with approximate costs for various services in your wedding zip code location.

The one thing everyone will take away from your wedding is MEMORIES. Your professional MC/DJ will help you create those but how do you remember them all as they occurred? That would be your photos & video. Why both? They are a complete record of your events from moments you experienced to the ones you didn't see. We'll be writing more on this in an upcoming issue and introducing you to some of the folks we like to work with - stay tuned!

Food is an important choice. If you use a venue

that doesn't have an onsite caterer then here are some we like: Out To Lunch, Lombardi's, Rosso Pizzaria & Wine Bar. For a smaller event or for an awesome dessert bar try Your Foods.

Your Venue will set the mood for your wedding day. It's highly advised you decide on the type of wedding you want, your theme, colors & presentation prior to deciding on a venue. Why? The short answer: it will save you money. An outside venue or a venue whose interior design you already like can save you on decor (chair covers, window coverings, candles), flowers or uplighting costs. One venue may offer catering packages or added services you may pay a-la-cart for at a different venue.

You'll be signing alot of contracts before the wedding. Are you going to read them all? How will you know if you're liable for buying an entire case of wine glasses if any are broken at your reception? (Actually written into a venue contract!) After you're married you may buy a house, need to update / get a will and for many ladies change documents to your married name.
